Black holes, for specific physical reasons, cannot allow light to pass through them. These reasons include the following
. 1. Strong Gravity: Black holes possess an extremely strong gravitational pull that attracts light towards them. When light reaches the event horizon of a black hole, it cannot escape, and is consequently drawn into the black hole.
2. Event Horizon: The event horizon is a hypothetical boundary beyond which nothing, not even light, can escape from the black hole. The gravity at this boundary is so intense that it bends the path of the light inward toward the black hole.
3.Space-Time Curvature: According to Einstein's general theory of relativity, massive objects, such as black holes, can severely curve space and time. This curvature is such that light cannot travel in a straight line and instead follows a curved path that leads to a black hole.
4. Escape Velocity The escape velocity from a black hole exceeds the speed of light. Because nothing can move faster than light, nothing can escape from the black hole. Thus, black holes trap the light that approaches them because of their immense gravity and severe space-time curvature, making them appear dark and invisible.
Arabic:
فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالْخُنَّسِ ﴿۱۵﴾الْجَوَارِ الْكُنَّسِ ﴿۱۶﴾
That run their course (and) hide themselvesBut nay! I swear by the stars,
In Surah Al-Takwir, the Almighty God states, The Arabic word "بِالْخُنَّسِ" has another meaning, which translates to "shy" in Persian, implying a star that is too shy to reveal itself. As mentioned, a black hole is a star that has died and become dark, and, according to the Quran, it is shy to show itself. However, the term "الْكُنَّسِ" also means a place of gathering. Black holes attract all objects owing to their strong gravitational force and collect them within themselves.
The Quran's concept of a gathering place refers to the compression and collection of objects within black holes, which aligns perfectly with contemporary scientific realities. Moreover, a key phrase in verse 16 refers to the movement of the shy star as black holes move at very high speeds. For example, scientists have discovered a black hole that is ten times heavier than the sun, but rotates around itself at the speed of light. Additionally, scientists have found another black hole moving 110,000 mph within a galaxy. Another point is that, as mentioned, a star collapses in on itself at the time of its death, transforming into a supernova or black hole. In the Holy Quran, the Almighty God referred to this matter.
